Would the real Ernie please stand up?

Maybe I've been watching too much Sesame Street, but I think there is a resemblance between Jude and Ernie. They both look good in orange, love to eat cookies in bed and they both have big eyes. These are Jason's "dolls" from when he was a little boy.

Today is the last day of our last week together before Jude goes to daycare. Today we are going to visit my friend Gillian who just had a baby boy last week. It will be a great reminder to see how much little ones grow and change in a year. It's almost hard to remember when he couldn't sit up, or when he ate every 2 hours (ok so I'll probably NEVER forget that), and when he didn't move from the last place you set him down.

What I hope I never forget is how he always make me laugh. Whether it's from him making faces at me, his giggle, the way he lounges in shopping carts like he owns the store, how he drops his spoon from his highchair then looks at me like, "what's taking you so long to pick it up?", and peekaboo from his crib every morning. If I forget these things, I hope it's only because I have many more great memories to replace them.

Here's to eating cookies in bed and looking good in orange.

Hey Carolyn,

A tough day, but let me tell you from experience, plenty of great new memories are coming. And, you'll see a whole new "look at how many friends I have, Mommy" Jude - once he's in dayhome. What a great opportunity for your little guy to learn, grow, socialize and meet other little guys and girls.

Enjoy your weekend, you both have great new experiences starting next week!

Love, LH
