Baby gates and doctor dates.

Here's Jude showing you how well the baby gate keeps him from going up the stairs. It's almost cruel that he gets to look at the stairs, he just can't touch or crawl up them. Now I just need about a dozen more to keep him from crawling EVERYWHERE.

As for doctor dates, Jude is doing really well. Although I was surprised to find out he's not even 20lbs yet! (I believe he's like 19lbs 10oz so we're very close.) He's over 75% for height but only 25% for weight, the doctor said he's going to be a model. Maybe cowlicks will be the trend in 2024, who knows? We'll continue on with the soy formula, and have him retested for the milk allergy at about 16 months. Fingers crossed that he will outgrow it. In the meantime we are going to introduce him to peas and beans to see how that goes. As well, I am meeting with a dietician to help me make sure that Jude is getting enough calcium and a balanced diet.

Now for the funny part of our doctor visit, well I can laugh about it now, but at the time...ARGHHHH. The story begins the evening before when Jason bought home an Energizer keychain for me. It had a cool LED light on it, etc. and he said I should put it on my keychain. So this morning as I was running out the door for Jude's doctor's appointment I put it on my keychain and off we went. I thought it would be a good distraction for Jude while waiting for the doctor. So we get there and I'm bending down to get Jude undressed to get him weighed and measured when the keys in my pocket were bothering me (because now there is this big gadget on them) so I pull my keys out of my pocket and this alarm goes off. It starts off loud, but then to my horror continues to get louder. Think fire alarm loud. My face is fire alarm red at this point, I'm trying to shove it down into the diaper bag to at least muffle the noise and Jude is crawling away half undressed. I still can't get this thing to stop, so I have to phone Jason to find out that I have to replace the pin that must have gotten pulled out when I took the keys out of my pocket. Then I rescued my son who was playing with the toys with only his diaper on. I guess you can say it worked as a distraction while we were waiting for the doctor!

Here's hoping your day isn't too alarming.

Jude you make me so envious.... to have an underweight problem!!! maybe instead of all the chocolate I've consumed over the years I should have been eating soy!!!!
You look so cute in your little jeans and pretty healthy to me... thanks for the visit last week.. was good to see you and your mom. (and grandma too).
Also like those high tech gates...hopefully I will have to invest in one.
