Glow Glasses

Jude and I were busy getting ready for Halloween this weekend.
Jude is handing out Halloween pencils and glow sticks to his classmates,
so we just had to try them out!
The flash went off in this picture...hence the funny face, or should I say, funnier face :)

Original glow glasses, before Jude created his own renditions.

Then mommy needed a nap after all that excitement.
Meanwhile Jude wrote stories. Here's one of my favourites.

Good thing Jude's costume can fit a coat underneath,
it's going to be a chilly one, here in Calgary.

Return of the Meerkat

Remember this costume?
The Meerkat returns, this time cousin Troy is looking adorable in it.

It made me wonder where the pics of Jude's first Halloween were, so I dug them up.
Here's a look at Jude's first meerkat halloween.

Jude enjoying his fingers.
(Jude would have been about 1 month younger than Troy is now in the photos...but I still don't think he would have "filled-out" the costume the same :)

Drooly meekat.

The now famous, Jude "mad face".

Let's hope Jude enjoys his costume more this year. Also hope he's less drooly.

Have fun in the Meerkat Troy!!

Angry Art.

He may not have "nailed" the Van Gogh sunflowers, but he's an Angry Bird expert.

This is a handmade booklet. I like how he added all the white stars to the cover. The backward letters also make it a Jude original!

Inside spread.

Piggies getting attacked by red bird.

I'll translate for those of you who don't speak Jude.
Once upon a time there were 6 angry birds and the six angry got their eggs.
(I think the pigs were supposed to get the eggs, but oh well.)

They keep telling us that writing letters backwards is typical at this age...but geesh even the L on Lemoine is backwards!!

Jude draws Angry Birds everywhere.

He's even gone digital. I love this one so much, I made it the screen saver.

The poor pumpkin Angry Birds are covered in snow. I've been sweeping them off so that the landscapers don't shovel them away with their snow shovels. YES, there's that much snow.

Looking forward to seeing Jude in his blue Angry Bird costume that Gramma Annie made.
Let's hope it warms up for the Halloweeners next week.

Van Lemoine's Sunflowers

As you know Jude is enrolled in art classes.

Here's his rendition of Van Gogh's sunflowers. Apparently he didn't have enough time to colour them, as he spent all his time colouring flowers on his "I love you Miss Finkleman" paper!

Someone sure is trying hard to be "teacher's pet".

Here are Van Gogh's sunflowers. Jude "nailed" it :)

Happy, or should I say "angry" Halloween

The 2012 pumpkins are complete!
Thanks to Auntie Shari for helping paint while she was here, and also thanks to Troy for napping through most of the fun :)

I have a few more additions I'd like to make to the "display", but for now here's how it looks.

Come Halloween, there will be another blue Angry Bird.

What are you planning for your pumpkins this year?

Pumpkinalooza 2012

Time to pick out those perfect pumpkins.

It was great timing being in Taber for Thanksgiving and Troy's baptism, as we were able to pick out our pumpkins for Halloween.

Jude getting "jude-sized" pumpkins.
These will actually become the little blue birds in Angry Birds.

Here's Jude's rendition of "red space angry bird".

Stay tuned for my Angry Bird pumpkins. I've just put the finishing touches on them, and hope to set them up outside this weekend. Now that the snow has melted!!
Gramma Annie is also busy sewing Jude's Angry Bird (blue bird) costume. Halloween has a definite theme around here this year!

I love fall and all the fun times in puffy vests and crunchy leaves.

Baby Troy

Baby Troy came to visit!

Auntie Shari, Uncle Simon and Troy arrived from Victoria to baptize little Troy. So much fun having a baby in the house again.

Lots of cuddling.

Making Jell-O Jigglers with Auntie Shari.
They had similar results to being partners in Craft Wars in Victoria...lots of fun, and lots of mess.

We were having tacos that night for dinner, so Jude made everyone "taco bibs".
I have no idea where he comes up with these things!

Then we were off to Taber for the baptism. Gramma Annie is also crafty and whipped up this green Angry Bird for Jude. Perhaps this is where Jude gets it from!

Troy on the "big day".
I LOVE this kid's hair.

At the church.

Godparents and Parents.

Jude's great-grandfathers helped build this church, his grandparents were married in it, and I was baptized in it, and now Troy. A lot of family history in that church!

Large, Medium and Small.

I remember when Jude was little like Troy, and can't believe he's already twice his size!! But he's still half of Uncle Simon, so he has a ways to go yet.

Thanks for such a fun visit Bakkers.
