It seems like we were just painting Christmas trees and now we've got that red paint back out for some Valentine's Day hearts. With how much paint Jude applies, it's more like sculpture when he's done.
I think all the extra paint on this one means he really, really, really loves mommy.
This one is my favourite, and completely Jude's idea. He chose the very popular Valentine's Day colours of blue and orange, and then found that the paint made good glue too!
Jude will celebrate Valentine's Day at school tomorrow, as there is no school on Thursday or Friday. I remember my mom spending hours with us making fancy boxes to put all our Valentine's cards in. There were paper doilies, pretty red hearts and lots of love put into them. I tried to channel this while I was wiping red paint off of everything and waiting for Jude's nap to finish the cards he will give out to his school mates!
I scanned in his painted red heart (after all that paint dried), and then proceeded to print out 30 of them and cut them with scalloped scissors...nothing says Valentine's Day like a scalloped edge. Good thing he napped for a really long time, cutting with fancy scissors is not easy.
Do you think preschoolers appreciate a scalloped edge? I added some glitter just in case.
Happy almost Valentine's Day everyone.
