Gingerbread house.

Auntie Shari and Uncle Simon helped Jude build this yummy gingerbread house. Since this picture was taken the snowman has suffered a loss of his nose and several bits of snow have gone missing.

So here's how it all started, from this lonely cardboard box (yes you actually stick the gingerbread to this box with icing).

When I bought the kit (retail value $19.99) I thought it would come with everything included, that being the gingerbread baked too. But of course, inside were packets that needed to be blended, candies that were suggested you buy and a timeline in hours of how long to expect it to take! This is step #1 - bake gingerbread.

Here's Auntie Shari holding the pieces onto the cardboard box for permanent bond. Let me tell you, I think Royal Icing could be used instead of crazy glue for all your bonding needs. That stuff sticks!

Here's about step #3 - Place elastic bands around house and allow to sit for 3-4 hours.

Finally, time to decorate.

It was so nice having Shari and Simon visit. Jude had new people to show how he races his car around, kicks a ball, and draws endless racetracks for his hotwheels. They really warmed the place up, as it's still frigid temperatures here and no real end in sight.

Good thing Santa likes the cold weather.
