Mothers.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there! Once you become a mom, you begin to realize exactly why we need a special day. My mother made it look so easy, so I was shocked when I needed more naps than Jude. (And I only have 1 kid...she had 4.)

This picture hangs on my fridge to remind me of what it means to be a good mom. Her house was spotless, the dinner table full of yummy things, and there was always time to colour, craft and help us with our homework. Our lunchbags had drawings on them every morning, and inside were never packaged cookies but rather homemade treats. (This could explain my waistline.) Our favorite game getting off the school bus was guessing what mom would be cooking for dinner. She was there to greet us and put our pictures on the fridge and listen to the stories of our days, every day. She sewed us beautiful dresses for every occasion. Even our barbie dolls had dresses from the Anne Machacek collection.

There are so many things that make my mom special, and I can only hope that I'm half the mom to Jude that she is to me. Happy Mother's Day mom, looking forward to seeing you on the weekend.

To all the other moms, I hope you get to enjoy your family on what I think should be a week long event, Mother's Day.
