Like these photos, our scary day yesterday ended with smiles. It was Jude's second day at daycare, I dropped him off at 8:00 a.m. in time for them to feed him breakfast (that I prepared and took for him). It wasn't long after I arrived home that the phone rang from the daycare wondering if they should use the epipen! My worst fears came true.
They said he was breathing fine, but that he had hives and his face and eyes were red and swollen. He had hives up and down his arms and around his mouth. We are still unsure what it was that he reacted to because they fed him in a separate area from the other kids and he reacted once they put him down on the carpet. We took him to the doctor just to make sure everything was ok, and it was. We have decided that daycare is probably not the best choice for Jude at this age. The daycare was even hesitant about taking him back, so it was mutual. We are meeting tonight with a family to nanny-share and that will be a temporary solution until September, when they no longer require the nanny. This will give us some time to find a more permanent solution.
The most important thing is that Jude is fine, he is such a little trooper.

Aggghh - I can't imagine! You must have just flown from work!
I do hope it all settles and that you find a better situation for your sweet little man.
